For ArtWalk Ventura 2018, Bell Arts Factory continues our tradition of being the epicenter of Ventura’s Westside Cultural District. We are already home to over 30 artists who have studio space- painters, potters, ceramicists, photographers, fabric artists, and sculptors. And this year, everyone has come together to create an ArtWalk Ventura destination that is not to be missed. Art, music and more- we are excited to open our doors and showcase all of the wonderful talent that makes up Bell Arts Factory, the Avenue, and Ventura’s Westside.
Here is Bell Arts Factory’s Schedule of Events for ArtWalk Ventura 2018:
Tool Room Gallery- Gabriela Molina “Yo Soy Adonde Voy” (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
At Gabriela’s first First Friday, Gabriela packed her small studio with friends and family, all there to see her work. The themed exhibit drew inspiration from Chicano and Latino cultural icons, mixed with influence from Spanish literature. Again, we were blow away.
This exhibit that consists of work developed during her residency at Bell Arts Factory. Gabriela, her artwork, and her story inspired Bell Arts Factory to launch our new Young Artist in Residence program.
Community Room- VTA:Next Wave (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
For this year’s ArtWalk Ventura, Bell Art Factory is exhibiting the next wave of artists in our community. These are the artists who are bringing new waves of creativity to Ventura. This exhibit, curated in part by Maribel Hernandez, will feature art from Ryan Carr, Julia Diane Corbett, Alma Denning, Vanessa Gomez, Lelisa Olague Loera, Sergio Martinez, and Stacy Smith.

Westside Cultural District
The backdrop to Bell Arts Factory is the Westside Cultural District, or what we call the Avenue. This is where art is created in Ventura; amidst the diverse community of independent, often-times immigrant owned businesses. And don’t forget the eateries – Taqueria Tepatitlan, Cuernevaca, and Ortiz Taco Time – hands down the best Mexican places in Ventura. Walking district to Bell Arts Factory are Stoneworks Studios and Art City, two other iconic arts facilities that put Ventura on the map, breaking away from the “beach art” vibe that can overtake coastal communities.
ArtWalk Ventura 2018 is free and open to the public.
